And an exacting restoration would include a sticker in that rear quarter window.

£200K and all these details missing, but will it sell?
I imagine the seller would correct these details if the price was right or adjust the price?

Good looking car, but still a high price being asked, and a high risk today of loosing money over the next few years?

Gear lever should be bright not black (and as Gary pointed out the boot is 73>)

Remember Lockyear having this car. He’s currently a manager of an Italian restaurant in Thirsk

Crackers for a non matching numbers car!

So....

Does this mean that it's, say.....£20 - 80K overvalued in this market? Surely nobody wanting an exceptional 2.4S (ie investment grade) is going to pay top, top money for a non-matching car....even if they don't notice some of the small things knowledgeable folk on here do?

Is anyone aware of another 2.4S that's achieved this or is being marketed at similar prices? I could believe this level of optimistic pricing 3 years ago, but now?

Who knows? The market will decide... if you want a RHD "S", there aren't loads of sale price data points (or many cars available, usually).

Has there ever been a 2.4 that is actually perfect for sale that has been used in it's life and restored to the perfect detail?
I've always thought there have been a few on DDK that have been through (say) Darren's Dream Team where Gary would catch these details 100%.

The non original engine must be the big de-valuer here.

Maybe £200K is simply the demand of the owner (is the car SOR?) who needs the ££££ to re-coup the cost and his expected profit.

However, someone may simply want a very nice presentable 2.4S and pay as few are available.

Hi, Canford Classics sold 2 RHD 2.4S a few months back. Both silver matching numbers cars, both from long term owner ships 30 years +. A 72 and a 73. Both around £170k. We are also currently restoring 2 more, both RHD 72S.

Thanks
Alan
