Looks like i have finally solved the problem of my brake pedal gradually going to the floor whilst not in use.
This was happening after reconditioned calipers were fitted and when the pedal dropped and i bled the brakes no air was coming out. I must have done this about 6 times. It was suggested that this was due to the pullback memory function of the new seals. This theory may be correct.
I removed the pads and pushed the pistons out to about half travel. I then pushed them back just far enough to get the pads back in. On bleeding no air came out. Did this on all the wheels and since then, despite little use over the last few months the pedal stays high up and i have good brakes.
