It really was a stroke of genius to do the ‘gold’ as well. Something which set the car apart enough without compromising its original character. Been copied many times since.

That might be drifting away from the 'Q Car....' concept! Could this colour scheme be applied as a wrap/decal or should it be painted? W

But Russ' needed some tlc on the chassis, where the Redtec looks totally done, so better price.
However I too would have had Russ' due to its history.

2 different cars imho. Depends what you wanted to do with them....

You can get an awful lot of function for half as much. An old 911 is as much about form.

.....whilst I agree an early 911 is a lot about form it's far, far more than that......

....I don't think there's a modern out there that I'd enjoy more than an early 911 and this one drives as good as they come.

....agree with Jason and they are two very different cars and I would have pitched Russ's old car at a similar level to this one.....at a similar cost they'd appeal to two different types of people....the Q-car is a turn-key option with nothing to do unless you felt like changing a few cosmetics....the 73E has the kudos of being a longhood with a cool racing past that could be used for a good while although ultimately a car that required a fair amount of work and expense.....

FWIW I still think the values of early Porsches, as with many classics, is bonkers and I was just talking numbers based on what the market seems to dictate........what I think things are actually worth is a different story!

I pondered this car and would take off the decals, maybe stick in a couple of racing seats...and have a flat see-through perspex engine lid made, with louvres in it.
