re chroming trim pieces

Yes, I spent some time scouring the internet for info on how well the Harrington Group bumpers fit thanks. I couldn't find anyone with experience of the 914 bumpers, but did find plenty of people having major problems with various ones they make for VW's and Triumphs, etc. I found two other companies also selling Vietnamese made stainless reproduction bumpers too (one was Bumperworld, I can't remember the other). What they were doing hey seemed so similar to what Harringtons were doing that I assumed they must be related companies.
The problems people were having with the VW and Triumph bumpers seemed a shame, as the pressings didn't look bad, but pretty much all the problems were due to incorrect trimming and incorrect bracket positioning making them impossible to fit. A lot of the reviews I read of their bumpers for other cars not fitting were quite old (2011 ish), so I can only imagine they must have improved the fit since?
It'd be interesting to know whether the stainless bumpers that Auto Atlanta have listed are the same, as I like to think theirs should fit well. It seems hard to imagine that multiple companies would produce tooling to stamp new bumpers out. However, the AA ones are far more expensive then re-chroming!

There is some very convincing chrome paint around. I'm not talking rattle can stuff but proper paint. Eagle have one of their E-Types painted in it and I thought it was polished aluminium.

Also, I'll be investigating chrome vinyl wrap for my 914 bumpers.

I know some people on 914world have been working with Harrington on the bumpers so might be worth a search on there to see if they've got the fit right
