Backdating a 3.2

The Lola originally had a chopped fibre glass body.
Using a new body with a more modern material saved 20kg. No paint, just good gel coat for colour.
Changing the red top battery to a Lithium saved a further 8kg.
Smaller wheels saved about 6 kg (already. Magnesium) and so it goes on.

Gearbox case is now a 73T magnesium unit, silencers alum alloy not stainless steel.
I've run out of weight saving except for me to loose weight.

The engine is a heavy weight, but that is a whole other story to change, expensive and time consuming.
It took a long time to get this car to work, so reluctant to throw that work away.

Changing the carbs to webers seems pointless, changing to injection much the same and the cost is high.

I think you need to cut weight like mad, find as much useable engine power as possible and improve drivability.
Then you have to realise the limits of the driver....

Vayber ? Well I bow to your superior command of the romantic languages Andy. How foolish do I feel now, calling Webcon and ordering Weeber jets and enquiring about Weeber floats. I'll certainly know better next time, I been practicing Vayber under my breath all afternoon. It's going well but I got some funny looks in the queue at Waitrose.

I wouldn't worry about it too much though - most people 'over here' pronounce them as 'Webbers' ....
