I could say you'll have to wait until the next Classic Porsche mag! But, seriously, it's a great event. There were over seventy of us on the Sixties' Endurance grid, including ten other short-wheelbase cars, four 356s, two 904s and a 550A. I don’t know where all the artics and motorhomes were hiding, but the paddock was mercifully free of them. You could actually see the race cars. What a pleasant change! The other races were grouped together too, including some newer, but still historic, 911s on a Classic Endurance grid. Practice and qualifying were on Friday and the two-hour race was on Saturday. The forecast was for typical Spa weather – all four seasons in a weekend – but our sessions were mostly dry. For reasons I won’t bore you with, we started from the back of the grid. I overtook more than half of it before handing the car back to its owner. It was tremendous fun and sounds slightly heroic, but all I did was get us back to where we should have started anyway! He then held position and brought the car home to a nice finish. I’d add that the driving standards were very high and the marshalling was exceptional. Other circuits and race organisers could possibly learn a thing or two.

… the real stars from a forum point of view were the Stephens family who did a fantastic job in their 356SC and finished ahead of us. Will should come on and take a bow!

That's it - the car belongs to Steve Jones. I think he will be out in it again at Dijon early next month, in the next round of the series
