Canarydelia wrote:Paul - hi! I'm just down the road in Harborne - would be good to meet up. LMR on this forum too I think is in your direction although his 914 is undergoing restoration at the moment. Seems to be a number of us in the Midlands now though. I'm hoping the weather stays dry tomorrow so I can go out for a bit of a drive.
Hey good idea...it seems there are a few local cars. I rock up to the Porsche Club meet region 9 most months but we should have a meet up sometime. My son and I own/run Zuffenhaus (http://www.zhporsche.co.uk) so I reckon we could start there

Need to see what mine is like first though!! :?

I was just about to suggest Solihull is becoming the epicentre of 914s. Paul - you will not believe how close my resto project is to your unit.....! I am typing this from Dubai airport, if jet lag doesn't kill me in the morning I will pop in and say hi.

Chief is also in Solihull, and Michael, with Green Ernie and canarydelia just up the road.

I think I know exactly where your resto is...well it could be in one of two units I'm guessing. Oh...if it's one of them I hope the resto is nearly finished as one of the guys is moving to another premises.

We won't be there much in the morning..gotta meet a couple of customers then we are gunna go get my 914. Most annoying is I have been off work all week with a shredded back so Mike (son) will have to drive the 14 back....not amused...

Do call in any time though...coffee is always available (or tea..) (actually or beer!! But we usually wait until after coffee time before we offer beer!!..)

Take it easy

Just had a quick look at events and it seems that there needs to be a DDK Central Meet & Drive. Let me see what my car is like first then I will get something up and running in the area. Should be fun...

That's it. I think we have the critical mass required for the launch of DDK 914 Midlands. I feel a launch night curry coming on...how about it?

If we launch at the Shebab, I am guessing you are claiming honorary midland membership?!!!

We could declare that Midlands DDK extends to a radius of 200 miles from the Shabab's.

We need to set a date. I'm guessing a Friday or Saturday would be best?

Picked up the 914 earlier...bit gutted as my back is still playing up so Mike (son) drove it home - he loves it..!!..obviously. I reckon he might well use this car more than me if I'm not careful :-/ Turned out well cos I was following so was able to check the car out on the move.

thanks for posting the pic Kev...I was wondering if the car was gunna be as good as the snap - it is!! There are plenty of things to do but this is a good solid car in great shape with a strong engine (Mike manage to go...well I can't say but it had a '9' and a '5' in it...on the way home!!)

Thanks for help 914kev and drummerboytom both who looked at lots of snaps and gave opinions on the car

Really looking forward to using this car A LOT :bounce:

Bud...I'm looking forward to going out in it!! As you know I have battered my back and hardly been out for last 10 days. Went out in the Land Rover for a couple of short trips in last day or two but don't think I can get in the 914 - defo not get out of it!! looks great on the drive though..!!..

Beverage and curry will be great. Think the plan is to look at a DDK Central meet so it's not just 914ers. I'm sure it'd be ok if you rock up in your old thing.. I hope there will be plenty more meets in the near future specifically drives out to....?..?..?.?...lots of places

Should be fun

Catch you later dude
