Just got home ...utterly brilliant weekend...the le mans cars outshone the F1 demo, the racing was clean and close too. Even got a tan ....roll on the revival.

A brilliant week end, helped by the fantastic weather. I loved the more modern saloons, the Le Mans cars and Group B. Spot on. Bumped into a few DDKers along the way, good to see you all.

It was a triumph. The only thing I disagree with, Hassad is that I won' be bbothering with the Revival after that. It was such a pleasure to be able to mill about without rubbing shoulder to shoulder. My little lad even got to sit in one of the cars during the grid walk on the Sunday.

I agree, enough people to give an atmosphere, but definitely no crowding either. Nice way to spend a Sunday (afternoon in my case).

Slightly mad and utterly brilliant, as only Goodwood can be. I was there early on Saturday morning as a hunt galloped round complete with beagles. In the evening, I watched four blokes crammed into a mini-caravan playing passable versions of rap songs and Kylie Minogue. Oh, and in-between I raced a car round one of the best circuits in the country. Where else!

[quote="40 scout"]Not going either Steve, put off by the write up, punters split into 'houses' scoring points for your house etc. bit jolly hockey sticks for me.
Expensive too as I remember ?
Although it is Goodwood and I'm sure they'll get it right.
Steve
Despite misgivings I went Sunday - great day - no crowds - sat in the grandstand with John Surtees in the seat in front
Lavant, deckchair, sun, ice cream, GT40's racing by - amazing
Goodwood came up with the goods again
Steve
PS - who was in the green 911T ? passed you on Chi bypass 356

That was me... your car looked great
Agree with all the above - it was great to wander anywhere you wanted, get up close to all sorts of cars, no queues, loads of deckchairs set out, interesting cars dotted about and the usual details you expect from Goodwood. Oh and the weather wasn't bad too!
Highlights for me were:
The touring car race - great from start to finish
Group B Rally cars
F40s leading the Le Mans cars - watching the Le Mans cars chasing a screaming F40 down Lavant was something else!
Turbo F1 cars
Trying to reverse a speedboat in convertible Golf...
Hopefully they do it again.

Hi mark - good pics - looks like you pulled off to go via Lavant, glad you didn't pull out, don't think my brakes would match yours (currently investigating front Disc conversion !

)
Yours too looked great in the morning sun
Steve

It's taken a day or two, but I have managed to find a more flattering photo than the one Dan posted earlier! Best wishes, Robert

That's a cool photo Robert, and delighted to see the car sorted after its last outing at GW. I spotted you briefly on the GW YouTube feed too
