When was the last RHD 68S on the market? There was (maybe still is?) a re-shelled Bahama Yellow 67S on the market a few months ago at £110K (which I thought was very hopeful)

We sold an Orange RHD 68 S to Helen which I know sold since, may be twice. What did that sell for?
We are also restoring a RHD 68S at the moment, also in a very rare colour, plus a LHD 68S so if it helps Mike I can let you know what the costs are. We have also (this year)sold several RHD (but LWB) cars including a 2.2E, 2.2S, 2.4S, 2.4T, 2x 2.4E's of which the prices help reflect the prices for SWB cars, but this does depend on condition of the car. Morning Mike, I can't ever recall seeing a Dolphin Grey 911 before. I guess it had already been painted when you acquired the car? Should you have a photo I would love to see.

Have you plans for another car should a sale be forthcoming? Not wishing to pry just natural curiosity!

Re value, I'd put any nicely restored or correct/original '60s RHD S somewhere between £75/100k. I think your car would need to be assessed for what it requires before an accurate figure could be reached. Might it be worth conducting your own PPI to see where the car is at?

It was sold by Billy964 a couple of years ago from memory. I think he bought it from Sherwood Restorations for around £55K. That car has been around a bit hasn't it!?

You might be right as I've not looked at your car in detail before, but I guess you think it's worth more then? If so try a higher figure - you can always come down, but you can't go up after it's sold!

I'm basing my estimation of restoration costs on what it cost to restore my car. They could be slightly less (doubt it) or more if the shell is in a bad way.

I would disagree with some of the comments made ...

There seems to have been a number of RHD 'cars' (which only a few years ago would have been scrapped) that have sold recently for what I regard as 'silly' money - so some (ill-informed ?) people will buy a RHD early 911 in any condition (I'm not suggesting your car is in this category !).

There are still many people (myself included) who would not be put off considering a car just because it is not in its original colour (although I do accept that it will affect the price achieved).

I would, however, say that the '68S models tend to sell for a fair bit less than other S models - &, although RHD models are much rarer, the market for them is much smaller than the equivalent LHD versions.

I would have though Sam's figures (between £50 & £60k) are fairly indicative of what I would think your car would sell for.

However, I don't often look at S prices - even less so RHD models ...

At £50k if it was fairly sound and not rusty I think you 'might' find a buyer who would drive it as it is....

Depends how sound it is REALLY is I guess as that figure could go down quite a lot dependent on findings, but as all we have is a pic from distance all you are going to get is ball parks.

As Andy says a 68S will never carry the premium of the 67S or a LWB S and RHD does not have the market of LHD. Helen's at £55k was in the best colour and had a LOT spent on it...but that also was not in 'current' market.

Another way of thinking about this is 'what would you take for it'? That is then how much YOUR car is worth....to you

As we are in a global market I have found the US price guide Hagertys quite helpful in the past, they seem pretty on it although obviously just based on LHD http://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/H ... ?vc=954435
RHD tends to get better money in Australia than the UK with the strong dollar over there. An immaculate 68's was offered for £110k and sold quickly earlier in the year, it was A1 quality though.

There were 33 RHD 68S coupes manufactured and 5 were sportos. The 68S is the rarest of all the RHD S's by production totals.

There were 4 made in a single colour of which dolphin grey is one.

There are only 6 'known' cars on my database but I have not been as vigilant as with my 67S RHD database so there are probably more especially overseas.

It's not a rare car, it's unique (in its original spec). For that individual wishing to have a collection of Rhd S models, one from each year of production, it would be the car to buy for 1968MY.

Early 911 in Dolphin Grey!! That would have looked Great, Not that it doesn't already. Good luck Mike if you want or to Need sell...Not sure on value in this current market...but as usual, i bet i can't afford it.
