Very interesting indeed.
I say this as I too have built a special around a 1978 Lola Sports racer, mid engine/915 box etc with home made parts where needed.
I found the manifolds are hard to do and get access to the cylinder studs but keep the primaries right. Too nearly 2 weeks to do them!
Your chassis is unusual as the Porsche design is very boxy in the main but has almost production car parts for the front rear bulkhead frames.
Lovely job with some v nice welds.

I don,t know what engine spec you have but don,t you have a flat spot around the 5000 rpm ?

Yes, flat from about 4K, hope to have found the solution last weekend. Busy doing some welding (again...)
It is the rear cross membr is all curves and presswork, while the main 'ladder frame' is straight forward construction.
904 is a lovely car shape.

It's a wonderful thing you are building!
The use of pressed parts on a racing car is unusual, but the end result looks fabulous

I may be missing something, but what exactly is the story on the chassis? Is it a repro, if so by whom?

We made all the moulds to press the chassis ourself , they where taken from a original chassis.

Very nice work all round.
I just figured out why "Ed" + "Netherlands" sounded familiar.
Dual classic motorsports, as featured in Classic Porsche.
