None of that rant was personally directed at you it was mostly for (visualfix) who said that's the 1st RHD he had seen for sale in ages (perhaps he meant A's).

My car had a lot of interest from ddk members but the ones that contacted me were total time wasters! hence the comment cash is king.

However this concerns you,Have you ever heard the saying the greater good. E-bay is primarily an auction site & the 356A was being auctioned,
This system normally works well.
People are free to ask questions & they can normally view the item. You then bid what you want to pay & the highest bidder wins (simples).

This system only works when everyone is straight & honest (greater good as the German's say) where it falls apart is when people become greedy & personal gain is more important than INTEGRITY. You wanted to prevent the owner from showing this car to anyone until you had viewed it 1st & you had already agreed a price with the owner (your words) This just spoils the auction for everyone.I am sure there were several DDK member genuinely interested in this car but a chat to the owner to ask a few questions discloses someones on their way up & has made me an offer. The result panic , The car gets sold, auctions ends, We all lose, you included so don't talk about integrity until you have a better understanding of the word

Keep the faith 356A/Tom

What are you on about?

I did not want to PREVENT the owner from doing anything? I wanted him to follow through with what he had personally agreed with me. If you can't grasp giving someone personal assurances and then negating on them is an integrity issue then we may aswell stop this discussion here.

Everybody was already well aware that he was prepared to end the auction for a price...it's stated at the start of this thread(!) and he told everyone who contacted him.

I have no issue with the sale or his motives or how he went about it, it's a car sale and it's eBay for crying out loud....it happens every hour of every day. If you think eBay always works like you stated then you have a lot to learn about eBay...

I have an issue with him doing exactly what he personally promised me he wouldn't. If he hadn't of done this then there's no issue.

SIMPLES!

Get it yet?

Sounds good to me :)

Mike he'd have taken 35, that's what he told everyone who got in touch with him. To be fair I'm sure he'd have taken less when you got there.

I did like the blue, red, oatmeal combo. Was very funky and late 50's!!

Be cool to see it in the flesh still but buyer was from Glasgow so a bit far. Really hope it was a good car and it now sees more than 500 miles in the next 25 years!

You sorted that engine out yet?

Keep smiling all :)

Keep

I've got lots of Scottish friends!! But its only cause you are the only ones who understand what us Geordies are saying, and vice-versa :P

Passing around Oulten? Can't remember that? Can remember an old white racer holding me and Melv up for bloody ages though! Think it was the extra weight it was carrying in the driver seat  :P

Think its too much like the RSR tbh Raymond - nice car though!! 8)

I'm rarely serious. I just like playing devils advocate, not accepting the 'norm' and poking people a bit to see how they react

On the outside I can see how I'm sometimes perceived as harsh or abrupt or even confrontational.

But thats just a persona built up from my business days.

On the inside, the 'real' Jason is actually just abusive, aggresive and argumentative   :P

Catch up soon you old girl :)
