Dakota, Thanks very much for your help very interesting indeed.I wish I could locate this history do you remember who you sold it to does Conor Francis McCauley of Teddington ring any bells? I contacted the seller again he defenetly did not recieve any history I think It may have changed hands a few time since you sold it however it has only 4 recorded owners since new 1961.

The guy I sold it to was Conner, he was a very big chap, not fat, just plain big, he tried adjusting the seat in my Pre A and shoved it off the runners as they are a bit flimsier in the early cars, the history file was not massive but was quite interesting, Conner and his mate wanted a historic rally car and their preparation consisted of bolting some spot lamps on and off they went to Istanbul, I have a photo somewhere of them standing next to the car on Tower bridge, Conner makes it look a bit like a toy. The dealer is was at was the long defunct Autodrome in Kings cross, it was pretty rough and I think the chap I bought it from was the same guy that bought it from there, meanwhile he had spent a load on it, I didn't pay a great deal for it and it was located in Woodford east London the owner lived in a William Morris arts and crafts house which was very nice indeed but I think he had some debts to settle fast..I was delighted with it, it looked really good and with a bit of sorting it ran and drove rally well and was pretty lively, although the underside was not pretty you can forgive a fair bit if the car behaves well!

so is this car still for sale ?

bidding ended £22,100.

hope its gone to a good home and is going to be restored and used/enjoyed.
