The RSR prototype cap was labelled (just once on the cap mind you, not twice) with the word OEL. Impossible to find these days. Off you go Mike....

thanks Andy, it does seem the obvious way is to put it on top, that little cut-out for instance can line up with the drain hole,
having said that the restorers still seem to favour putting it underneath, to protect from the crap thrown up from below.
