My hints and tips:
- Try and see the funny side when putting your tent up in driving rain...
- 'le carbruettooor eh flambé' means 'you are going home in a truck'
- Remember the people of DDK will always pull out the stops to help when you are in trouble
- Watch racing in the small hours from the inside of Arnage, it will stir your soul.
- Earplugs (or rohypnol!) if you plan on having any sleep
- Drive down with like minded souls, it's half the event for me.
- Buy the cheapest gazebo from Carrefore and then leave it behind!
- Take pictures for memories, not to acheive art (this is a note for me!)
- Savour every moment, being woken 2 hours after you went to sleep by the exhaust of a 250SWB is a good thing.
Can't wait!

Aah the tunnel, memories of gunning my old cobra with 345 hp and back-firing cherry bombs - repeat until funny!

I'd highly recommend one (our vw club uses one the same at all the big shows) however they are bloody heavy and you'll need at least a van to carry it all, we normally split poles and canvas between 2 vans.
James it is constructed from scaffold type bars and has cross bars that travel along at ground level which can be tied into the ground so winds shouldn't be a problem (unless of the biblical variety

)
