I think your decision to start in the Autumn is very sensible, and will give you oodles of time to check out potential restorers. The one tip I would give is to ask to see repairs in bare metal. It is an absolute doddle to do mediocre repairs and then hit them with seam sealer / filler etc before a quick hit of primer: anyone can do that. On the other hand, if you see repairs in the bare, there's nowhere to hide.
