Progress has been very slow on this car, as it has taken back seat to customers' cars, Ferry Man's Hot Rod in particular at that time. We started painting the car in May/June 2008! In fact the rolling shell went to Castle Headingham in June 2008 without its final top coat;

I'm off to Belgium in just 10 days to do a rally, so yes, it will be at Spa..

The group that I will be rallying with is Slowly Sideways, I have navigated on their rallies since 2002 in various Porsches, but not driven yet. Thei cars are genuine period rally cars, mostly from the Group B era, as well as very good replicas of works entries.

This is the Carrera 3 that Sobieslaw Zasada drove in the 1977 London-Sydney rally

The owner repainted it to replicate the car that Bjorn Waldegaard drove in the 1978 Safari. Here we are the Nurburgring in 2005 where it was driven by Sabina Schmidt as part of a WRC TV programme. She got it round faster on worn knobbles than she drove that Top Gear Transit van a couple of weeks beforehand

So I wasn't going to get accepted in a Fraise ST replica, so a change of colour scheme was required, to the disappointment of some.

This is the colour scheme that the works 911s wore for the 1972 Monte Carlo. sponsored by a French cooking pot manufacturer SEB. No. 15 was driven by Bjorn Waldegaard, to retirement.

No 4 was driven to secong place by Gerard Larrouse

Back to the build. To keep the weight down I have fitted 4mm acrylic windows all round, GRP bonnet and wings, both bumpers and engune lid. It's also cheaper to fix if I bend it

Lightweight door cards and carpets, Sparco seats, Momo Type 7 steering wheel

In this picture I have 7 and 9 x 15 Dage Compomotive split rims fitted, which are very light, these will be for dry tarmac tyres; Toyo 888 soft front, medium rear. Standard road and wets tarmac tyres will go on 7 and 8 x 15 RSR finish Fuchs.

A full set of Cibie Pallas lamps wired through separate relays will light up the lanes

The motor build has been detailed on a separate thread. I am taking the car to Bob Watson tomorrow to set the motor up on the rolling road, although it has only done about 2 miles so far, up and down the farm lane. MOT will follow on Tuesday, so hopefully I can get the car registered and taxed before I go to the TAC Rally in Belgium on April 9/10

The brakes are C12 6 and 4 pot calipers on Carrera 3.2 24 mm discs with a bias pedal box with .625" master cylinders . Of course they are not legal under FIA Historic regs and probably far too much for the weight of the car!
