Yep I've been stung with the import duties as well... mainly because they usually take the stated value of the goods in $, and then charge you duty and VAT on this as if the number was GBP...

Perhaps you can help me here Nick. I have to replace the front suspension panel, the section which covers it (tank support?) and the front slam panel. I have the panels - from Roger Bray & Watsons - but not sure about the easiest order to do them in.
I had planned to weld in the new slam panel first, then the suspension panel. I thought that would minimise distortion and re-alignment problems. Not sure from you photographs if you repaired that slam panel or replaced it.
Advice appreciated.

I didn't need to replace the slam panel. I would recommend that you get it jigged to do this amount of work

Thanks Nick. I think I might consider setting up some reference templates and making a jig before I start. Needs thinking about........

I am very happy with the work carried thru early911.co.uk and have no hesitation recommending them.
Due to the corrosion being less bad than initially thought the total cost ended up as just under £700.
This included trailer the car from Littlehampton to Poole, all parts & labour - everything.
I got a lift & drove the car home. Fabulous.
