Biggest can of worms. I personally don't think intervening is wrong, but I don't think not intervening is wrong either. These guys obviously have strong opinions, they're way angry, they probably have other issues which exacerbate their angriness, and there are more of them than you. They're not going to listen. Leave it the police to sort them out, and bias your pictures if you have an opinion you want to express.

That said, I bet 90% of them were LCC students trying to bag a dead gritty angry-mob shot so they can get a desk job at Magnum.
