Well Im lucky im not a horse, as i think if i was i would get myself shot!

I phoned the painter, and well it turns out its a £1000 regardless for a good job (or free for a blow over! as that was the "deal" with the owner- Erm, No thanks), whether it be black, or whether it be red!

Well that throws a spanner in the works, for the reasons above i had decided red, now im thinking all over again!

Damn my decision making!

Ive asked him for a week (I also asked for a gun, to shoot myself, but he didn't have one), and then make the FINAL decision.

Either way he swears a TOP job (which will be base coat + lacquer), so i'll just have to assume that in my thoughts.

if you find a gun, post it down to me and i'll do the "honours".

Wouldn't it be best just to have the "blow over" or even no paint at all and save the £1000 for the bits. You could drive it in primer and we'd all still talk to you (this is not PCGB remember)
If you are going to have to do some repairs/welding in the near future then the paint seems to be a bit of a waste of money.

Hendrik speaks alot of sense - get all the work done and fixed with the money and then maybe blow over a colour.

Then when all the repairs and work are finished and all parts are fitted you can do the final paint job in either colour and know that you will not have to repaint.

You will also get the car on the road quicker and not feel so bad if a few stone chips appear in your first few miles of driving as you will not have had it painted in it's final coat of paint.

All the best with the decision making! By the way I had a black chesil and it looked fantastic. A curvacious car like the 356 begs for that sort of paint. You can not beat that colour!!

Matt black!

As a blow over. I hate red cars and the majority of the cars I have owned have been RED!! it was condition over colour. longed after black. then my 924s came up jet black.

worst colour to keep clean and shows every mark, swirl, reflection.

best colour car I've had wa he golf blue 912 never needed to wash it and it looked $10000000

Go mean  until the work is finished

Thanks for the extra replies - anyone think i should go black? lol!

Ive changed my mind, BLACK it is going to be! Woohoo. I can put the gun away, phew, and normally im so good with decisions.....i think ive wanted a 356 for too long hence the descisions getting a little out of proportion (well only 16 years i suppose...nice to be in the cusp finally).

But that's a good point about just getting it blown over as its free =) and putting the money towards getting it on the road, as although its "complete", i havent seen all the bits, and there has got to be something expensive missing right?

and matt black, hmmm, now that would be cool (lowered on brm's, or those "der steiner rad" rims if you know what those are...) but if im going to blow it over i might as well go red, at least then it will match the door shuts.

Good thoughts boyz, i like it, and i really like it about the quote :
You could drive it in primer and we'd all still talk to you (this is not PCGB remember) Wink
well, thank f**k for that, it might just be! lol!

Have you seen the latest PRS Blog pictures of the PRS Outlaw 356 which was previously red and is now black?

I think that the red did look good on this car but the black is also stunning and I am sure it will look even better in the flesh!!

Good decision to go for black - I would if I had the opportunity!

Thanks Henrik

I have never been refered to as someone who is techy at all

Reading back through the message I can see what was being said but it did seem to be ina bit of an IT language!! Sign of the times I suppose!

PRS have put a load more pics up today as well - yippee

Anyone experienced the stereo and speaker box installations ? I wonder if they are expensive and worth it?? Currently I have now sounds but then I also have the sounds of my flat 4 to keep an ear on anyway !
