Im surprised you have not dropped the engine anyway as its alot easier to do the work you are doing with the engine and box out of the way. Ive done 2 hell holes now and both times dropped the engine out first as its the only real way you can get to every part thats going to need welding.
Looks good though what you are doing and worth it once done. Just make sure you have jigged everything before you do your final weld, oh and make sure the door fits correctly on the offside as ive seen a few where the welding has been done and then the door wont fit.

Yeah i know about the missing fan-blades think there are 4 or 5 missing,i have given the car some real stick on motorways and A/B roads and has always run fine even with the remote oil cooler stuck inside the engine bay.
But i have bought a dipstick temp gauge and with oil cooler relocation to under the rear should be ok ? I do have 2 spare engines tho from type 4 variants if need be so thanks for the parts offer.
Am sorry about the large jumbled pics,no idea why they are bigger than last time and i even made the effort to make them neater.

Not posted up for a while ,been too busy driving now its all back together. So to bore you here is the last few,

Inner wing seam welded back in
Then welded the outer wing back on,took ages didnt want any warpage to come along

Originally i hade made this piece but thought what the hell lets buy another panel!

Relocated the oil cooler, with proper hose this time not the rubber hose it had that had 'bubbled up'in places when i looked

Of course with a re-located oil cooler it high lighted up that the exhaust that was on no longer fitted so time to get welding with a pile of bends and this is it at the nearly finished stage, took ages to negiotate everything with the car being so low but its on now

Also fitted the dipstick temp sender too, lovely easy job .Temp has yet to get too 100 even with me giving it some stick when its warm so i guess its cooling ok.Just need to do the body work now .
