The 'Maverick' Classic Porsche Forum and Classic Porsche Club for Porsche 356, Aircooled Porsche 911, Porsche 912, Porsche 914 & Porsche Replicas. 'We join for the cars but stay for the people'
I was following a very similar car for a while through the rain on the N138
That was me ! Were you in the group that pulled over when we were in a lay-by ? I wanted to stick with the 911 convoy, but the Bristol went off like a scalded cat and I had to stick with him (it has a very hot 6.3 and goes like stink).
Yup that was us
I did note the Bristol being driven with distinct enthusiasm!
We didn't need much encouragement either !
I think you may have stopped to help out some other friends about a mile back in an MGB - thanks for that.
Great car, great model and a credit to you and the restorers !!
? ...maybe a 380mm steering wheel from Andyjboy ?...
Your car is very similarly equipped to mine except for the S motor and the oil cooler at the front.
You can still get the engine bay stickers from Stoddard in the USA - I got mine about two years ago - email them for the missing ones !
Can you do me a small favour pls - a hi res pic of the timing decal on the fan housing.I am looking for the one that says '911 E / S 2200'.
TIA,
Dennis.
Hi Dennis,
Thanks for your kind words ! I have a shot of the decal for you - please could I have your email address ? I recommend this place for Porsche decals - http://www.skaraborgsflyg.com/Engelsk/dekaler.htm
1970 914-6 - from my 'Lotto' garage now a reality !
1971 911S 2.2 - UK delivered
1975 Carrera Targa (ROW) - missed
One of us is fast becoming a valuable antique
I for one can vouch for the performance of Tims car, as I was behind him for most of the trip back to the UK! To get 178BHP out of an engine that old is just incredible.
