Sounds all good James. Thanks again for your efforts.

As posted elsewhere, Alam and I can vouch for Karting Nord as being really good place to stay.. bigger, more trees, more bogs etc and still right by the action. It'll be very cool 8) 8)

Does anyone know what you need to do if you are taking two cars but one tent?
I assume you pay for one camping plot, but will you be able to get both cars onto the site?
Anyone know?

Probably not. The passes are issued and affixed to the car windscreen.
You're let through onto the site with a pass displayed.
I think they monitor the car's for access not the number of tents.

It is a car deal afaik, me and Stuart went on our pushbikes last time and only paid to get in and camped for free. As said the pass is for your car and very sticky in case you were thinking of sharing it.

I see you can pay for parking on the ACO site, wonder if that would get you in to the campsite to park?

quick answer is no it won't.

for example Maison Blanche is only accessable by cars via a single entrance that is manned at all times. No pass on the windshield no entrance.

Last time, a portable car crush was used to dispose of all non-ticket displaying vehicles. Any guilty occupants were forced to use the on-site toilets.
 Sounds a bit harsh.

Sorry, couldn't resist   .

So 2 cars means 2 camping pitches...

Still I guess it's only 80 euros.

Update :)

It looks like ACO have started to number the camping pitches at their sites and issue the tickets with the pitch number, so no more turning up and grabbing a huge plot anymore ...

Anyway as a result Karting Nord looks like it will have numbered pitches too. Knowing the French, I thought I better just confirm my 38 camping passes are going to be 'together' and I've just had a confirmation email confirming they are :)

So all our 38 pitches are together in a single area of Karting Nord 8)

I'm glad we didn't all book seperatly as we'd have all ended up all over the place
