James

Barrie Martin made me an engine mount that is essentially the same as the original six mount and allows you to use the six sandwich mounting block - fitted really well.

Started the car up again last night following the installation of the correct oil tank - everything seems fine - correct oil pressure at last!

moving on to the last couple of things .....

Well there has been some more progress with the '14 - bumpers and side skirts have been painted and re-fitted. The to do list is definitely getting smaller.

What about all the other conversions - how are these coming on?

Mines still work in progress. Making the final repairs the the hell hole which thankfully is all sound underneath, but I've had to remove the four-engine mount to repair properly.
The RJ mount is welded in + I'm hoping the actual engine install should be fairly straight forward. I'm planning to run in out of the car first so I can fix any niggles/oil leaks etc. So maybe in one or two ice ages it might be back on the road.... :?
Ian have you looked into insurance? I think Bob Usher had some trouble insuring his 3.0 conversion.

Insured the car through AON - £~280 for the 914 and the 912 including track day cover for the 914!

Major step forward today - the 914 moved under it's own power out of the garage.

Why am I spending all this money !!!!!!?
If only I had found something like this before I started. I could even have had a 'life' instead of spending neary 10 months on the internet trying to source all the parts !
You may want 38kEuro - I had it and spent it - still don't have a car yet. (But it is very close !)
Problem is when I started on this voyage of discovery late last summer I wouldn't have paid 38K Euro anyway.
Believe me you can't build one for that money. I thought I could but I'm not afraid to admit I was wrong. Spec of this one is similar to mine apart from the fact that this one has 'silly-cosmic' horsepower. What a weapon !
If anyone would like to help then please buy some of my spare parts on DDK for lots of money.
