My engine shelf came this morning from
restoration designs. I had brilliant service -left an email and they called me back next day, took card details and it was here couple of weeks later (sans import duty

-result)
Now lets see if I can blow holes through it with my amateur welding...

Some pictures you won't see often -unless you're undertaking major chassis repairs -inside a 914 longitudinal section. I managed to squeeze my camera in there before I close it up

Strengthing ribs on engine bay side -I think just below arrow is the 4cyl engine mount

And view towards the rear the end is the bulkhead for the rear boot (or trunk) and the arrow shows the boot lid torsion bar clamp reinforcement

My new patch punched + ready to 'let in' -It's taken my about 3 weeks on and off but I'm very happy with the fit. Thanks again to Barry for his tutelage.
All above the patch is shiny new metal -just horrible light to take a photo
