Apparently the engine unit now in the car is a recon unit, not the original one rebuilt.
Is Jim the man at Stateside Tuning? Forgive my ignorance as I'm new to all this! Anyone have a number/web address for him?
And does anyone know of The Engine Shop?
PS - Did some quick research on 912 Register site, and nearest colour I could find was Copper Brown Metallic (436-9-3). The car has definitely been resprayed but I dont think seller knows what the exact colour is!

They sometimes clear off to Florida before Christmas to do a bit of Xmas shopping/restocking, so if you email and get no reply for a bit don't take it personally LOL

I bought Fudge, #576, from 'Evil-bay', sight unseen on 5th November 2003. The photo was a little 'faint' and she was a none runner, no air con or Sun roof and is in Chocolate Brown (Not a popular colour I know but I love

those 70's Earthtones that are sadly lacking on todays cars but I digress).
With the purchase price, cost of shipping, rebuilding the engine myself and having the interior refitted etc on my 'ikkle Fudgester the cost would more than the asking price for this gem of an 'E.
Would I do it again?............Hell, yes of course I would.
Best wishes to all my fellow 912 / 912E Freaks for 2007
Hope to see you in the new year and remember...................KTF

You know this car then Fudge?
I've seen some shots of yours... what is the official colour of yours? Do you know what your paint code is?
The 'Best 912E' Colour (IMHO) has gotta be..................

Chocolate Brown,
Paint #408-9-1, paint code T3T3. I adore it as it is SO 1975
Back then Brown exemplified quality and class not Chav and crass like most of those Chav lottery winners dream machines,
ie Bimmers and Benz

which are usually Silver or Black with the back windows blacked out

Don't get me started on Guards Red as that so 1980's Thacherite naffness. Porsche did some fantastic colours in the Early '70s which they have never come close to beating.
Boz where about are you in Mersyside? I lives in Dewsbury which ain't too far down the M62.
IIRC There is a Yellow '12E for sale at 911 Heaven in York @ £12K
All the best for '07 and KTF

I must admit I also have a bit of a soft spot for those 70's earth tones! My favourite is Oak Green Metallic. The car I'm looking at it is either Copper Brown Metallic or Sienna metallic... paint no./code 436-9-3.
I'm in L'pool Fudge, as you say just down the M62. Might be cool to meet up and I could take a looksee at your '12E. It would be good experience for me as I'm a total newb when it comes to these cars. Don't mind driving up your way.
£12k is way out of my price range mate! and tbh, for that money I'd prob be lookin at an SC or something.

This car looks like a bargain even with import costs.
Don't forget the exchange rate at the mo.

$7500 about £3900!

looks dodgy in this area, see the lumpiness on the paint work

Galvanised body on these cars... The area's like that are common and with some work can be fixed.. I would say the price is right when you see the work that needs to be done.. But the price in the US can always be talked down... Esp on the 912E's
I still think for the money the Southampton one is good to go.. Just see if you can get the price to where you are happy and jsut go for it.. then you will have money to one side incase of something but I doubt it..

The asking price on the Soton car is a decent starting point I think. There is very little history with the car, so I'm gonna have it PPI'd for peace of mind and to perhaps give me stuff to beat the seller down on price with!

Thank god for that..
I don't think you are going to have any real issues with that car it's priced below what I think it is worth it's had alot of money spent on it.
With abit of TLC you can make a real gem of it and make a little profit for the future..
Well done..
At last some one out side Southampton owns it.......
