It looks as if it's deffo 98. If 98 is recommended for the E then for the S spec it's got to be 98. I'll be topping it up with Optimax on Friday.

Let me know how the car runs. I just started a job in Thetford, perhaps some of the other East Anglia folks may wish to get together for a beer one evening (when I am around).

nope .... but there is a pretty big power station in the middle of Thetford forest that burns chicken litter etc ... I sell the fertiliser (ash) that it produces

very pleased with the bushes. I still think my car is set too low. I'm going to get it 'lifted' by about 3/4" next time it has a suspension set up
My car still seems a bit 'loose' on bumpy country roads when at high speed, but that might just be because I'm travelling too fast
(car was loaded full of stuff & full tank (80lt) of fuel)

Hi Dom,
So what's the deal? Are you moving to Thetford area or going to commute back and forth to Staffs for the w/ends? Would be up for meeting you for a drink somewhere up in Suffolk one summer's eve. I will deffo be going up for the magazine shoot that bootsy is organising.
You should have a good time with the car up there. The roads are dead with bends that are easy to sight. July is a bit constricted when the crop is high but it's harvest time now and you can see through the corners again.

Keith,
Just returned from a quick blast to Belgium and Germany and brought back a few Porsche books which I left in Belgium.
The 911 story by Paul Frere states that the 2.2S needs to run on 98 RON
with a compression ratio of 9.8:1
(page 36, 5th edition and table on p 61)
If that is any help....

Guys,
Couple of things:
Veryporky - no plan to move to Thetford for the time being. I am to do alot of international travel, so no need to move. I am in Thetford two or three days per week. Not too far from Cambridge. I am probably there sometime wednesday/thursday this week, not sure yet. Will put a post on probably tomorrow or tuesday.
Hot66, car looks great !!! Overall recommendation on ride height is 25.5 inches front, and 25 inches rear. That is the Porsche recommended EU ride height. I think you previously noted the car is .5 inches lower front and rear. My car with the bigger bars 21 and 26 mm work a treat.

Further to the above, I burned a tank of BP Ultimate. Not as good as Optimax.
Has anyone tried any of the higher high octane fuels, like Tesco's, Esso's etc?
