Did you have to raise or lower the seat mount compared to the Porsche seats at all?

Are you going to hit them with a mallet and scratch them up with sandpaper?
Well done. They look great, along with the rest of the car.
Quite a transformation since I saw it at Le mans in 2012

I had missed all this Mark, I'll have to check the resto threads more often
As all above have said, nice work looking good.

Really nice work Mark. As above, I'm a fan of the matt look too.
Would that product work on vinyl or just leather?
Regards
Mike

Thanks again
Keith - I've just put a 3mm flat bar across the top of the mounting point so I'm raising them by 3mm (irrelevant) - however the Ferrari seats do sit lower in the car. I was happy with it when I tested it but the acid test will be when I get the drivers seat in tonight. I can always alter the mounting brackets if ai feel I need to. However on that Porsche high performance driving book by Vic Elford he advises to have your seat as low as possible to get the best "butt feel" for what the car is doing
Mike - dunno if it works on vinyl but if you drop them a line I'm sure they'll be straight with you - been impressed with them so far.
On the Matt finish I applied a bit of the leather preserver while I was at the traffic lights last night and polished it off. It barely changed the finish at all but it felt nicer afterwards, so it looks like it will remain more or less mattish
BTW - if anyone wants some leather filler I've got a whole tub you can borrow.

The reason I asked is a) I have my eye on a pair of similar (but non-Ferrari) seats, and b) the seats I have in my car felt great as they were mounted while in the workshop – perfect in every way. But as soon as I drove the car any distance, I realised they were too low. I know at 5' 6" I'm not the tallest Porsche driver around, but I struggled with having the steering wheel too high (and having to peer over the top of the wipers!). I raised the seats in El Chucho by 20mm and what a difference it made. I know this is kinda irrelevant as each seat is different, but I quickly learned there is a big difference between what feels right in the workshop or on a short journey compared with a 200+ mile trip.
Same went for the door mirror, which was useless in the workshop and is totally useless out on the road...

Out of interest, how wide are the seats across the two bolsters?
