after almost 6 months locked in the garage , moved the 911 out into the sunshine just to get things flowing etc



still running like shite as the MFI is all out of synch and needs re setting up

BUT, forgot what a sweet reving motor it is . Makes the 964 engine seem lazy . Its a pretty car too

Decided I'm going to have to get someone to set up the MFI again ( linkage worked itself loose when I had my clutch vibration problem end of last year ) as my attempts, which have improved it , have still not got it right Usual problem of most MFI guys are down south

Surely the Sage of the Lakes can sort it?

Get yourself over to my pad on Thursday the 19th, we will sort the throttle bodies and have a pint. Then off to the RS day at Oulton on the Friday.

Got the Rennshift in the correct position, and found it helps to FULLY tighten the rear gearbox coupling...

Bloody works well now, so very precise, none of the 915 magic wand stirring stuff.

Got the racer running and checked the carb balance, spot-on, plugs all the same dark biscuit colour, spot-on but can't get 2nd or 4th, nothing new there!

911 looks so very pretty in this sun.

Did some more carpet edge binding practice - focussing on the corners

On Saturday drove to Cofton Park for to take my son to the Inter Counties XC. The race didn't go at planned for him but we got the top off on the way back and it almost made up for a carp race. When I got home I changed the oil and filter. Unfortunately I didn't have a turkey blaster so I used kitchen towel to absorb the oil from the filter canister. No shinny bits in the canister so all is good.

On Tuesday I took the Targa to Revival to finally get the back firing when taking my foot of the accelerator on the motorway sorted. Unfortunately as I was showing Max something in the engine bay we noticed the oil filler cap wasn't on. I found it behind the left carb! Lesson to myself fix the cap on correctly before driving off!!

Cut out a replacement mirror for the gt mirror. Took 2 attempts as l used convex glass but chuffed with the out come.

The past couple of days have been spent getting the engine back in, putting on new header exhaust system, installing a rennshift shifter and finishing off the suspension and brake upgrades.

Then i started the engine after a rebuild. And it drips oil. a lot of oil.

Then i had a sulk.

Then i had a tantrum.

Then i put the car back in the garage and decided to worry about the leak tomorrow and go and have a pint. I'm going to miss the Harewood practice session now, but hey-ho. I will get it onto the track soon enough.
