Wheel / arch relationship looks odd . Unless I’m just used to seeing cars sat a little lower

Think it’s just at normal ride height.

They are also selling separately the 2.4s engine that came out of the car. It will be interesting to see what it fetches.

would have thought it would have been better to sell the car with the original motor and sell the genuine RS motor seperately ( EDIT .. just read the 2.4 is non matching anyway so that probo explains it )

That was exactly the thought process I went through. Be definitely interesting to see how much it fetches.

Even fitted with a non-matching S engine I would have thought selling the RS engine separately would bid higher combined

For me the numbers are just eye-watering. £118k resto (car driven 158 miles since). £70k to buy and rebuild the RS motor.

And I love the commentary... "Inside, the re-trimmed blue leather upholstery is in great shape, with only a few very minor creases on the seats." How can there be minor creases on re-upholstered seats that have done 158 bottom-miles?

Fascinating!

.

I would have thought that with the amount of money spent on the car they would have sourced/fitted the correct wheels (these are later ones) ...

.

Is it’s just the centre caps that make them different? My knowledge isn’t good enough on that topic

I know what you're saying - maybe it's the angle and height setting but on this picture (excuse massive picture) the rear wheel to arch looks quite strange

How much do you think a good restoration can be done for then if £118k is eyewatering?
