Yes it is a long way. But I’m planning on taking 10-14 days round trip. It looks a fab hill climb with some real STs and a low key event.
With all this time to reflect, its time to plan and make the most of when it’s all ‘over’.
Didn’t realise the 40 Weber’s would be ok at that sort of capacity. Good news, thanks!

If it’s the original colour I’d be building I back to original as that’s a very rare and potentially valuable car. I’ve only seen one before for sale in that year and colour

I’ve done Bernina twice, alfa and 911, you’ll be fine jump in and go - see you there - top tip - no hotel breakfast, up early to be at the top for sunrise - you won’t regret it.

That car is gorgeous, i know nothing of and do not care about horn grill screw colour etc. Lovely, just lovely. BUT Williams Crawford, if you insist on putting your plaque (as in teeth?) over the front numberplate for the pictures.......PUT IT ON STRAIGHT!!!!! Arrrggghhhhh. Back to the shed. W

sorry for the delay, home schooling is such fun!
The car was originally signal orange and painted 20 years ago in glasurit gulf orange. I had some paint done and it matched perfectly. I don’t think I would need to do too much to it for hill climbing. It is no. 40 off the line in July 1969 but a MY 1970 car so would have been built around the same time as the lightweight S’s. A diet for me would be the most cost effective performance modification!
I would have to drive it to events as I don’t want to get involved with trailers etc. After this nonsense perhaps best to start a beginners hill climbing thread.
As an aside, the last car I ‘built’ is hillclimbed by Margeret so about time I did it myself.

Just a hill climbing comment, no more.
Making a 911 road car to a good hill climb car is just so easy, just do the road going class.
The only thing a car needs is to be road worthy(!), road / MoT quiet, have a bolt-on timing strut (use the number plate bolts), an arrow (stick) to how which way to turn the ign' key to 'OFF' and some yellow tape around the /each battery -'ve cables.

Finally some race numbers that are assigned to each meeting. Put these on simple magnetic sheets, and then to the doors on arrival.

Biggest expense is your own PPE!
Suggest you do a hill climb drivers' school as a taster, you need none of the above and can borrow a crash hat on the day.
I did it this way for about 14 years.

A fully restored '57 A in Roy's preferred colour.

Seems plenty are forced to the left, but the right does indeed incur a financial penalty!

Looks lovely. Not heard of Trofeo Cars nor a RHD T/R. But then I can’t afford one either!
