good going Barry
For comparison I walked into my garage, looked at my car up on axle stands, thought 'sod it' , walked back out of the garage & sat down with a glass of wine & the kids to watch 'spiderpig' ( simpsons)

Looking great Barry. Can see you're well motivated, a final push and you'll be there and in very fine fettle for the coming season
Can't wait to see the car's final transformation.
Black oil turning to clear is as good a sign as any that your car's ready to be used as intended
Bring on CLM and the Welsh Tour. It's gonna be a cracking season
New (well, kind of!) cars, faces, places. What more do you want?
PS - James, nothing wrong with spider pig

Took the car on the 135 mile round trip to V/World yesterday. Drove fine, and must be quite happy as it returned around 23-24 mpg, which given the conditions must be O.K.
Gratuitous shot from Volksworld:

Looks great Barry. Now you've got it in such good shape I'd imagine you'll probably start looking for another project to keep you locked in that shed.
Summer's coming, someone will bid you a lot of money for that car.
Sell the car and keep us amused with another restoration thread.
You don't deserve a nice car.

Funnily enough, I've just come upstairs to pen an ad .... watch this space.
For those that haven't endured me for the last week or so, my thoughts have been turning to selling the 'E'. All for good reasons: the workshop is booked pretty long-term (about a year) which means that except for over Easter, all of the work on the car has to be done on the (gravel) drive, often in the rain.
As you know, my enjoyment comes from working on the cars, and the bodywork in particular. This car is at a nice stage at the moment, of driving fine, and looking pretty.
Anyway, I'll pop a 4-Sale up over in the appropriate section and see what happens. In the meantime I'll carry on pottering around on the car ....

Forgot to say, I'll probaby keep half an eye out for a suitably rusty project (must be complete) but overall will concentrate on the workshop for the next year or two.
In terms of DDK activities, nothing will change: lets face it, I've never actually managed to get to the Fairmile or any DDK event in a Porsche anyway, and I would hate to deprive my fellow DDK'ers the opportunity to take the mick out of the Cappo

And thanks for the run out in it on your way back Barry - must have broken your heart to use another £1.50 of fuel
I must admit I was amazed at how well sorted it felt from a ride and rattle-free passenger seat perspective - and deceptively quick too.
Nice job you've done there

Update: after posting the above pictures on Pistonheads, I'm pleased to say that the car has now found a new owner.
I'm fitting a set of Lokari arch liners, and a full set of inertia belts plus some details, and then it'll be on it's way. Not far though, and easily within reach of the Fairmile

.
As a bonus, I think we'll be welcoming a new DDK member very soon

More to follow ....
