Is that a solid or base/clear? Most painters will generally go the base/clear route unless otherwise instructed.Obviously originally would have been solid.I wonder what formulation of paint Porsche used in 1960s? Not actually sure when 2k paint hit the market.

It’s base/clear. Yes it was originally solid, but hey there’s not much left on the car that’s original so I may as well use modern paint methods!

Was 2 pac the original 'knacker-lacquer'?
Paint it over anything and it shines??
I'm convinced now my 911's original green was not Viper, it's calmer than yours Gary.
Fab colour, cannot remember a DDK car ever being done in viper.

I can’t take any credit for the paint part, and I’m beginning to realise the reality that every part I now fit to the shell is likely to make the end product worse!

Remember to put a small scratch in the paintwork once you get it back - it gets the pain over and done with quicker

Renew all the brightwork and the rest will be fine imho.

Brightware order will be going in soon. Just paid the second (of three) paint invoices so need to give the man maths bank a short recovery period!
I’ve got £3k left to finish the car, major spends being front and rear screens, seals, brightware, carpet and tyres.

At least when it gets a dig,its pretty simple to blown in.One reason NOT to paint a light metallic shade!
