Colour change car which in most cases is a downside (guards red not a 73 colour) but in this case looks like there might be a nice surprise if you check it out carefully but would the cost of a proper job outweigh the final value?

Well spotted. I’ve been mulling the figures over too for a full colour change.

Guards red repaint is a common American thing.

You could be right Gary but I thought tangerine. It’s one of those anyway but you and I know what a proper paint job costs so either way would it be worth it?

I'm afraid that targa ended up in the hands of an English citizen from the Costa del Sol.

Betolaza is known in the Porsche classic scene of Spain as "Berzolatas" (cabbage-scrap) and it was a joke a few years ago with very unlucky craft creations, horrible interior and tons of paint, fiber and putty, also the mechanical part is very discreet and of course that targa does not have the 330 hp that it advertises, the other fun feature is the exorbitant prices.

There are four, two pre 73 targa turbolooks like that, a backdated cross-eyed 993 TT and a blue 993 targa with a bow that was previously a black 993 cabrio.





For example, the targa roof was not operational, he had to adapt it because the measurements were not good, €550,000 request.



The 993 tt had a huge amount of fiber and putty, a red boatiné interior, a hideous spoiler and exhaust, etc...and a price tag of €750,000.

The person:



Mr. Francisco Betolaza was in his youth a mechanic for the Almeras brothers in Montpellier, after a dark past that included legal problems for drug trafficking, he appeared out of nowhere one day with an independent Porsche specialist workshop, after a short time he closed the workshop and disappeared completely again, leaving behind him the four "creations".

The finish in the engine bay is exactly right for the year and 50 years of use. I thought that might be a good sign for the rest of the car to be relatively untouched and the repaint the only change. There is a repaired cracked dash I can see and those hideous wheels (repro?) and one or two other issues but other than that I feel it’s looking like a fairly honest example. Needs all the numbers and dates properly checked out of course.

for the money though it would be a great car to run around in for a few years and get stone chipped etc on ddk runs before maybe reverting back to original
