Paint is booked in...
Definitely not going with the cheap option

...but it comes highly recommended by many on here and comes with the added bonus of Barry being 5 miles down the road for any last minute rectification.
Might delay the build another 6 months due to cash flow but if I can hit CLM 2022 I’ll be happy!

Amongst all the ex-Barry 911s they recently did this, should be ok...

Getting the final jobs done before shipping it back south:
Time to paint the dash!
.
.
Quick wipe, scuff and blow some satin over it will do...?
Or maybe not as it reacted and looks like hammerite...
Sand and etch prime...
Nope that doesn’t stick either...
Back to metal we go...

Prime:

And run out of black satin Easter Sunday morning just as I get to the instrument housing...
This job is cursed

Surprised at the reactions, but had it in the past, but use Hammerite Smooth satin black to win.
Will it react on the other spots that need to be blacked?
That Ferrari, I think the car is a replica and featured in Octane or classic cars magazine, and it looks fabulous in the articles where the pictures are larger.
Was Viper Green a simple solid colour or metallic with clear?
Gary: you have a pm from me.

Viper is solid, not metallic and originally no lacquer. Probably going to lacquer this time simply for durability.
Dash is now done due to a last minute message from a friend that spotted an open motor factor!
With 10 minutes to spare I have paint!
It’s gradually going more mat as it cures. Should do the job nicely.

So after nearly three years that’s my bit done...
Off to DC Coachworks on Tuesday for exterior paint having fitted the final touch of a set of new door bolts (Thank Magnus!)

Almost a shame to put paint on it.

How long before it is back?
Take the same shot and it will be a great calendar submission, before and after.
Will look fab Gary.

Not sure Graham, it’s not booked in till the end of next month, but I’m shipping it early so they can start if they are bored!
Based on the other cars through this shop it’s not going to be a quick turnaround. End of August if I’m lucky.
