Took it out for its last run of the season up to Old Warden to see the final air display at the Shuttleworth Collection. Great day out. Drove home in the dark for the first time. SCARY. Headlight aim way off, main beam minimal.

Now onto the stripdown for the respray back to polo red over the winter. Watch out for the resto thread

Took my 81 Targa to the Castle Combe Autumn Classic meet and watched Steve racing his beautifully prepared 356A. No doubt he'll be writing up his race somewhere. Nice day out to round off the race season.

I took my 356 out to put some petrol in it and pick up some bit for the Landie. I didn't have time for a longer drive but I'm trying follow Roy advice of getting it out during the winter even if just for a short ride.

Awoken just before 5 by the noise of something downstairs so went downstairs

Then realised we had an intruder riffling through the house

He got away with 2 iPads and a tablet

To cut a long story short he's now behind bars after being put through a brick wall and pepper sprayed

Not nice, all feel a bit shook up but safe

Got forensics and CID coming next next so sitting in for the day!
Thought I'd close this off for anybody interested.

After a good few months of statements and eventual return of the stolen goods the little scroat who entered our house while the family slept ended up in court.

He pleaded guilty

Yesterday saw him sentenced.

He had been in the UK since last November when he came over from Poland to work in a laundry factory in Norfolk. An alcoholic who was apparently managing to keep sober until the night he decided to break into our house when he was off his face.

Anyway.......

16months In clink and deportation as soon as he finishes his prison sentence.

Not a bad result at all

Excellent result. Shame we can't deport him first so he can serve his sentence in Poland and not cost us anything more!

Having found the rough/vibration when the engine was running at 3K rpm and went smooth when you pressed the clutch pedal down in neutral @ 3K the engine came out to look at the clutch.
Looked perfect.

New one bought from Eurocarparts locally for £60 cheaper than most sources and the lot went back in with the usual fights along the way yet the CV's to the box and the gaskets fitted 'instantly' without a bad word spoken.

Stated it up and set the oil level and tested it in the garage.

Vibrations gone!

Too knackered and wet to take it for a run so will do on sunday and see if this is a false dawn or for real.

Must admit, classic car mojo is still ebbing away, nice bright yellow Caman 3.2 would be good.

Spent the day yesterday down at a very wet Goodwood taking part in a photoshoot for a forthcoming C&SC article on sports racing replicas.

One car bottled out (Evanta DB4GT Zagato-inspired car that's appeared on DDK before) so we were left with my 904 plus a 250swb, Aluminium-bodied Hawk 289 & a GT40.
