In case you want to see what the correct made for purpose Boge strut/Bilstein insert spacer looks like, two of these just arrived (in a box that was so big it made me think it contained two shock absorbers - poor form there Bilstein).

So there you go, thats what should be in there...maybe one day I will have the energy to fit them instead of the washer collection! Chunky arent they!?

This is ddk at its best, a problem, good discussion, a solution reasoned, part found and fully tested.
Bet there is a gap between the strut tube and the locking collar! (?)

Part description
“SPACER RING 7mm”
Thats it! They are not stocked, made only to order. I went via the Bilstein website live chat and described what I needed - a spacer for a Boge strut to fit a Bilstein insert.
Apparently they are stocked in the US. But not here.
