On the bright side my kids think a zero soundproofing race car (with a cage you have to clamber over) is perfectly normal transport.

Some fabulous photos - particularly the overhead shots.

I took a few more from the roof of my house, involves climbing out through a window onto a small leaded roof outside the front door. My wife has given up on me, just shakes her head now.

Hopefully get round to editing them and post them up, glad no one seems to mind the pictures. Not much to say on the car, just enjoying seeing different curves and angles at the moment.

Great photo's of your car Tom. For me, ride height is just a wee bit to high. Would still love it to be in my garage though.

Dougie thanks, I am of the same opinion and was going to ask if others felt the same. Not being used to the car I wasn't sure. It's booked in this week to get lowered slightly, nothing drastic and then geometry is booked for Monday. Need to try and get the factory std heights and then work from there.

I agree on the ride height - it would look good with the "1 finger gap" above the wheels to the arch imo......

But what a fabulous looking car!

Thanks, at times I like the sticker, others I am not so sure. My 15 year old son loves it, so its staying in place for now. Just some fun.

Took the car for the first real blast on Sunday morning, 7am start out via Lanark across on the A73 towards Thankerton and then down the Dalveen pass to Drumlanrig. Incredible roads. Two friends in their own cars, 991 C4 GTS and a BMW 140i. Have to admit they left me dead on the way home, spoiled none of the drive. The 930 is a fast car but the pleasure for me is settling in to a rhythm, its a heavy brute and you do feel the weight on the back end belting into fast corners under heavy breaking. Loved every minute of it.

Andy driving his 140 described it as the numb mobile, bloody quick car.






Suspension lowered now, don't want to go for the slammed look. Personally I think this looks just about right.



Credit to JohnM for spotting my wipers were on the wrong way, quickly swapped before anyone else noticed.

100% agree with M140i comments - they are fast, but fairly boring. Kind of feel all the new turbocharged BMW's are missing their charm. Almost embarrassing they (BMW) consider them an evolution of the wonderful NA engines they used to put in their M-Cars
Much more enjoyment going slower in something that presents a challenge, and feels/sounds special

.....and as the story goes with classic motoring. I probably should have expected some sort of sting in the tale given the car has sat dormant for so many years. At the start of the project I had looked to try and have all elements sympathetically restored, cleaned and generally given the once over to ensure health. I have managed to dodge a bullet. The car was booked in today to have the geometry set and checked, no point having the car looking good and pulling like a pig. The 930 is completely new to me so I have no reference at all as to how the car should handle and respond. On the face of it, its reasonable so I was keen to see how it would look on the computer.

Ran the car up at lunch today and roped in my wife to bring me home. The experts quick assessment was that it was pulling to the left, uncertain and twitchy on the move and almost fighting against either side. Left the car to have it all sorted, no track work just fast road and secure thanks very much. Left and received a call 5 minutes later.......the nearside drive shaft had split from the gear box while he reversed the car into the garage.













Unbelievable and very lucky this didn't happen at speed. It would also appear the settings are a mile out........in any event no harm done. All bolts now being replaced along with a new boot. Set to the correct torque and locktight added. Geometry should be set tonight ready for a Porsche Club Fish and Chip run tomorrow evening.
