Update: well, it's still not been on the road since last Autumn, but a few things have been developing.
1) The (red for now, black in stock ready for the change to Leaf Green exterior) fourpoint harnesses are in, and now routed up through the BF Torino Nurburgring seats (look quite neat).
2) tacho packed up, so that is with Tim to see if it's savable.
3) Private plate now on route to P.O., and car now sports a period 'K' plate. Much nicer, and some black acrylic / reeded character plates ordered (nearly £70

).
4) All gauges finally removed from dash: a real battle as they had been wedged in tight, which had encouraged the rubbers to stick both to the gauges and the dash. Took nearly three hours to get them out. I clearly wasn't the first to try, as they were pretty mullered. They and the dash now look pretty distressed, so there's plenty of work to get it all tidied up again. Another problem is that I had to use neat silicon lube to shift the gauges (really was the only thing that worked), and I've got a horrible feeling that the silicon will be back to haunt me soon. At least by the end of it, I should have a tacho that works, a tidy dash, and much-improved instruments.
5) The decision has been made to gradually go over to EFI: all in a reversible way, so that in the future the car can be reverted to standard. The appeal of getting around 30MPG, smoother running, and infinite ajustability is too much for me to resist. Gradually gathering the required bits together, and I'll put that on the 'Ditching MFI for EFI thread' soon.
6) Some of the scruffy carpets are out, ready to be duplicated. I've got plenty of black auto-carpet here, and loads of black banding for the edges. Just need to put the new belt on the industrial sewing machine and get going (hopefully without stitching my fingers into the fabric

) .
7) Arch liners: these have been rough-cut out of 18G aluminium, having been dummied up in card first. Next stage is to beat some shape into them to give them more of a factory look than the Lokari ones. I'll wheel them smooth, and might add a load of louvres (sp?) to the O/S/F one to aid the (extra) oil cooler.
8 ) Hopefully in-between some of the bigger projects coming and going, I'll get a few days to drop the engine, spray the bay (red for now), add the acoustic insulation, weld in the O2 sensor boss, and get some shiny bits in there.
Think that's it for now: no pics yet I'm afraid ...
BTW, despite the quick job on the paint last year, it looks as though it'll survive the Winter O.K., with just a couple of tiny blisters coming through. Given the paint was plonked over lots of old paint and filler, I'm pretty pleased. All of the time it doesn't look too embarrassing, the change to Leaf Green can be put back whilst I crack through with other projects.
