No you don't - this is just a test. It's good that it's getting worse as it means you're closer to identifying it
The simple things you see are all complicated
I look pretty young but I'm just backdated yeah

But they work, don't rust, go fast, getting cheaper and look great...
My mate has just bought a holiday home in rural Wales, price of my 911....
Wife likes the idea....
Help.

But , a 997 will lose £10k over the next few years and you'll end up saying a fortune when you discover scored bores, etc etc

3/4's throttle or a ruff patch at 3100rpm and your thinking of quitting.
I went to see MB last weekend, my gearbox has been previously worked on by a monkey with bolts inside being left loose, my heads are shagged and my barrels and piston are worn. It'll fix, it will back, I can't wait. Itching for my next drive!

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
I've had this car since 1988 and even then you could see the road through the floor..8 months of DIY welding saw to that.
On my 3rd engine here, fitted the 3.2 15 years ago and it has never missed a beat until now. You get used to the way things are then pop, off it goes.
26 years with this car, 80k miles or so, 14 years hillclimbing, 3 gearbox rebuilds (last one by MB) and one good crunch on track has made it an adventure, but just thinking it may be time to call it a day.
You may not know about the 'other' Porsche powered racer I have in the garage where the negative adventures are profound, That has a 3.2 also!
Onwards and upwards soon I hope.

Slippery when wet....hang on a minute....these mulleted wonders were banging on about all of this stuff and i never spotted teh hidden message. At the time, I just dismissed it as sub-Quo nonsense.scalino65 wrote:Livin' on a prayer... more appropriate at times.Bootsy wrote:Keep the faith - as Bon Jon Bovi once said.

What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Feeling more positive tonight
. Glass of whisky and watching trashy TV with my daughters
Anyway,
Clutch adjusted and working fine
Throttle rod in the tunnel shortened ( not worked out why I needed to , unless it's always been too long and I've never noticed ) , rubber connector checked and found to be ok
Started adjusting throttle linkages and things are getting better .... Had to stop, as me blatting up and down the village with no air box and full throttle pulls at 9pm was a tad anti social .... Also turns out my afr meters are reading the 'other' bank which was causing some head scratching

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Sometimes it is good to simply walk away from a problem and sleep on it.
Apart from a rough running engine, one headlamp went out.
Checked everything, all worked, bulb tested ok, AVO said it was all fine, but no headlamp on O/S.
Took fuses out again (3&4), and noticed a lot of corrosion on the fuse and the holder...
I've stared at that many times...
Cleaned with scotchbrite pad and i sure have two bright headlamps now and red dots in my eyes also.
