clutch pedal spring

slight problem in assembling my pedal box, in that the clutch pedal spring does not seem to fit

I should say that it took a few attempts to get the correct (?) spring via Roger bray, as they thought that the only spring which matched my 1975 Carrera was that of the Turbo cars of the same era……were they correct I now wonder

the first photo is my old one (snapped) and the Bray replacement. I am not sure if mine was this long or whether the distorted part of the spring is original and therefore it was actually the same length






Either way length is not the issue its the diameter, as you can se its slightly larger than the original


so next picture is item installed and as you can hopefully see its fouling on the rod from the accelerator pedal and also touching the rear of the pedal arm when fully depressed




have I actually got the wrong spring or have I put it in the wrong way ?

I have exactly the same problem but put it in the too difficult bin for now. I'm sure we have assebled it correctly but that the spring winding profile is wrong OR it is only for LHD cars since I think mine only fouls the accelerator crossover link which wouldn't be an issue for LHD ???

If you solve it give me a steer.

There are several different springs. Did Mark supply the right one?

they can supply the 306 01 spring but its £50 !!!

so have a call out to mittelmotor to see what they can do

Mmmm, £50 no wonder I ended up with the wrong one. I'll look at an alternative engineerd solution I think.
