I remember the 914 I bought from Phil Johnson a few years back - on the outside it didn't look too bad then on closer inspection most of the inner structure around the battery area had just disappeared!
I was lucky with my orange '14 that someone else had done all the welding prior to my buying it and had done a pretty good job. Shame the then owner decided to drive into something at high velocity and shorten the car somewhat!
