1974 Carrera Prices going through the roof

no one (sadly) is going to pay that so long as my butt faces south

if so I'm sitting on a gold mine with mine......

thats been for sale on a dutch or belgian dealers site for a wee while now

will be interesting to see what it sells for, assuming it actualy does

Keiths modified 74 carrera only made around 14K on ebay last month

That car has been for sale for some time.

Advertised prices are not necessarily the same as selling prices...

Incidentally, what makes you say that a Carrera 3.0 is better than a '74-'76 2.7 mfi Carrera ?

I can see a day when the 2.7 Carrera will be worth 60K Euros, they are pukka kick-ass 911s IMO. The good IBs are all slowly creeping up.

Another Mexico Blue for sale on www.m-freisinger.de at 80,000 euros-
this is a no expense spared in house resto-on sale since June 2005.

A white one for 60,000 euros on www.sws-stutzmann.com-this oddly
has no front or rear spoiler, 16in Fuchs and awful seats.

Two lime green 74 Carreras with consecutive chassis nos. were sold
in March for 42,000 euros each -www.roock.de

3 more were sold this year at c. 45,000 euros
www.elferpool.de www.jetsetcars.fr and www.automobilia.fr

Both Roock and Freisinger said they expected these cars to reach half
the current value of the 73 RS Touring by 2007/8, ie 75,000 euros.

Keith's car now owned by Nick Faure failed to reach its reserve on ebay
and is on Pistonheads for £39,995.
Will post some pics of my 74 Carrera-bought in France in 1998-
Gp white, ducktail, black Carrera decals,black leather,7+8x15 Fuchs,
Esr,Blaupunkt Berlin etc.

I bought my old 964 from Autobotique Botz (elfer pool). He did start putting his prices up sky high shortly after I bought mine. Nice guy, but does hunt down good cars, and seems to sell them.

What have I started?

They are both really good cars in there own write.

The 74 having the more rev happy race engine.
The Carrera 3 has a stronger more lazzy engine and the zinc coated body which does help stop the salt eating the body.

But in truth the cars are very equall when it comes to performance ect. I must admit that a 74 carrera in lime green with a ducktail and detailed Fuchs look so good.

Yes, but IMHO the driving experience is different.
The 74 Carrera and the 73 RS Touring both weigh the same at 1075 kg-
their MFI engines tend to produce 219 BHP in practice.
In a back to back road test in Flat 6 magazine little difference was found on the road although the 74 Carrera had greater high speed stability.
Both cars provide razor sharp responses.
The heavier Carrera 3 with K-Jet FI and 200 BHP is a softer drive.
