*Help Part Needed Urgently!*

Post by sdog911 »

Calling all you porsche guru's...

I am building a porsche fan conversion on my 62 split bus and need a top pulley that would fit a 5 blade fan assy...

I presume it is similar to 356 or vw split pulley with shims... not sure...Help...

Has anyone got one spare kicking around that they would part with for cash???

I also need a steel wheel in 5 x 130 stud pattern as a spare.. again if you have one and you no longer need it please let me know... :?

Cheers

Scott

Is it just the pulley half you want or the bit that's rivetted to the fan too? I may have the outer half knocking about. Its worn but works OK.

Not sure, should the belt rub against the fan and half a pulley?if so then I have the fan part and I need the bit you have.

This is the bit I have:

Is your bit all I need plus some shims??

Not sure if mine will fit. Mine's for a 69-73 car. Part 901-603-421-01. I haven't got my PET handy but if your fan is 5 fin I think they're from later (77?) Don't know if they'll work together. Maybe someone does?

Hi sdog 911,

I've got a 5 blade fan (powdercoated red), shims, and pulley half. Only bit I haven't got is the 'washer' that fits between the alternator shaft nut and pulley half.

Also have an alternator....

pm if interested, and I can send you some photos. Was hoping to sell as a job lot.

regards

Hi,

An early pulley will not work on that fan as the number of pully holes is different. I am not sure if the same upgrade is required for a VW but it might be worth upgrading the fan to a 11 blade one. It will run cooler

Here is an early 11 blade one on a 2.4T motor
