Orange 914 with spotlights on bonnet.... who's?
Coming down the M1 today bout midday spotted an orange 914 going north round about Milton Keynes (I think). Looked like it was race prepped. Had mounted spotlights on the bonnet. Any ideas who's this is? looked pretty cool would be interested to find out more.

uuumm now i like that.......BUT otice both cars are photoed with the headlight up... i can't help feelig the spotlights would look a bit silly (frog eyed like0 when the headlights are down.
no im not going to do it.. I hate driving in the gloom especially in a car i have hardly driven..
besides i have visited gaydon 4 times this year so far which (for me) is more than anough, especially when theres shopping to be done

My word Adam, that's a blast from the past. Tatton Park 1999. That's me on the extreme left with Bernard Mooney and Mrs Middlefour on the right.
The car was built by Andy Palmer with hinderance from his Dad Bob, based on an early 1.7 car and turned into a GT look alike. Don't be fooled by the number plate that's from Bob other car, he put it on so they could drive it home to Kent. As I remember they came up to Tatton to collect the car from Mike K who had done the final engine fettling, that's his T25 twin cab in the background. Andy built the car to run in the PCGB hill climb championship but I think they only did a couple of seasons as Andy went abroad with his work and Bob had a brown trouser moment.....
The colour scheme is from the 1970 Marathon de la Route cars, car number 3 to be exact. Not quite sure why he put the spots on as it was built for hill climbing..... Great to see that picture Adam, ah memories.....
