That looks to be about the same cost assending it to Reading, so thanks and I will contact 912UK by PMpmjt wrote:The PCA (Porsche Club America) offers excellent service - check out the link at the bottom of the page:Highfield wrote:Sorry to hijack, but I got my V5 back today, and want to get the Porsche CoA (£65 approx) - where do I write to, and does anyone know exactly how much it is - does it apply to all cars, as mine was exported to the US ?
I need the CoA to prove it was manufactured 1/9/72 - 31/8/73 to get an 'L' reg, as it is currently on an incorrect 'M' reg.

I know Mark (912UK) has done this on several of his cars so might be able to give some advice?

How do you tell if a car is matching numbers?

Well spoke to very helpful nice man at Porsche GB in the Customer Assistance Center and cheque is on the way to him.
You have to also send fax or photocopy of V5 so they know you are the owner. Cost is £64.62 for the build sheet and he can print it out as soon as he gets the stuff from you. So sould have answers before end of week.
Also decided on spending the £5 to get the DVLA history of the car.

when I applied for this, initially they just sent me a single letter confirming the chassis number, engine number , build date etc .... but I wanted to know the options the car was ordered with, so gave them a quick call & they sent a letter with the options etc as well

Seems it won't be as quick as they first thought. As nobody has ever asked for details on this car before and it is old they don't have the records in Reading.
So request has gone to the factory in Germany and will take 3 to 4 weeks to process.
I guess a little old man has to search through old dusty documents or something like that.

sent my copy V5 and cheque this week, so looks as though I may be in for a wait also.
Also sent my INT70 to California DMV to see what they can tell me.

Got my letter today confirming numbers match for chassis and engine, 1973 model year built in October (doesn't specify year but assume must be 1972), and Sepia Brown.
As per hot66, I will ring and ask for the build sheet information.
Confirmed with DVLA that I can now get the correct 'L' reg and FREE Tax
- just need to send in V5, MOT, copy of tax disk and Porsche letter.
Being 1972, I can also use original black / silver plates - any suggestions on where to get these ?
