912 Starter Motor Removal
Anyone give me an estimation on whats involved to remove the starter motor (the engine is firmly in the car!)
Can find plenty of literature on taking it apart. None on getting it out. Packed up tonight so havent had much chance to explore.
Thanks & regards
Rich

Thanks.... the bush on the starter had come out a few weeks back - had it reconditioned and now it has gone done it again. Paid for low loader last time to get it to garage..... they wont do any more than repair it under warranty so I need to take it out as a nother journey on low loader is not an option.
Sorry for the ignorance.... is it found from under the car or via the engine bay? Some more hints welcome! Consider me a Virgin!
Cheers

Make sure you disconnect the battery first.

I know it's sad, but can you guess the year from the pic?

Hi Rich,
Yes it is a 69 indeed.
Not sure about 2003 though, is that a guess or can you tell from the picture properties (or something). It came out of 69 912 Targa I once had, but I think it was the early part of 2004
Cheers

One out of two not bad!
We met in 2005 and discussing how you started with a 912 and moved to 911's so it was a wild guess that you hadnt removed a 4 Pot for a while.
You were selling (I think for someone else) a Silver 911 with Polished Fuchs. Took me ages to choose between that and a 912.
Always wondered why I didnt go for the 911 - it was very cool. Thanks for your help and tips then too.
Cheers

Hi Rich,
I do remember, how are you?
I also remember that silver car, it was a 67 911. The fully polished fuchs made it a little to bling, but it was a nice car. Any pics of your car?
