Winter retro

I'm after something old and classy, open to ideas but I'm thinking along the lines of BMW 5 series (E28) 1987 vintage, 2.5 or 2.8 timewarp classic, don't mind auto or manual.

If anyone knows the where abouts of one please let me know, thinking up £1k, must have lengthy MOT and tax if poss.

Any other suggestions of a something german retro/old skool cruiser/saloon.

Giant boot; safe and solid; retro even when new; hard to find a better winter car - heated seats, use the hand brake as a diff-lock; not german but built like one...

I have just taken a 1995 Audi RS2 Avant in p/x. Apparently it has 385 bhp

How about a 88 5 series - believe there is one for sale just down the road from me - not too far from you either. Don t know how much he wanted for it though, can find out for you if you wish, looked quite a tidy thing though, m tech wheels, etc

that sounds ideal, the arlier shape I assume on an 88 plate, if you can find out details that would be brill
