Electrical issue? No fuel pump or gauges..... advice please
Went to move the Yellow car this evening - haven't used it since last week on Prom duties last week.
Turns over fine - very fast in fact given I fitted a new battery (a couple of weeks ago) BUT.....
No whine of the fuel pump
No Alternator light on, no pinging to life of the gauges (fuel, oil pressure) - (clock still works!)
So guessing electrical - quick glance of fuses and seemed ok but wondered if anybody could shed some light given the combination of failures?
Can check fuel pump relay but why have the gauges also gone?
Bad ground somewhere?
Ignition switch failure?
Hate electrics! Any words of wisdom and what to check first appreciated!

Fitted the new battery couple of weeks ago and used it a few times.
Then drove to the Prom last week - stopped and started multiple times, came home, parked it up and left it

Have you checked that the earth strap from the battery to the body of the car is clean/tight and free from rust where it bolts on.
I would say it is a bad earth and seems as you changed the battery recently I would concentrate around that area first?

.
All of the items you've said are not working are fed via the ignition- check the condition/ tightness of the heavy gauge red wires at the battery +ve terminal.

Ok had a nice clear morning so up early and....
Took the new battery off
Inspected and clean all wires, connectors, checked ground etc.
Fitted and....
Still nothing.
So under the dash to have a look at the Ignition switch and......
Voila - the Pin connector from the switch was loose.
So cleaned it all up, contact spray etc.
Plugged it in
All sorted!
Thanks for the advice

Nice one - always great when you find and fix the problem
The simple things you see are all complicated
I look pretty young but I'm just backdated yeah
