yet another bloody road trip

As i haven't been able to do a proper trip for sometime - this is going to be fun!
Taking Flachbau as this is what we
built her for ( although I wish I added CR aircon - will do so when GWC have some workshop time!
)
Left Ardrah at 1000 on Tuesday for 1600 Dublin> Cherbourg ferry
-30kms west of Dublin suddenly the motorway became a skid pan- after two hours of local thunderstorms - spent 60 mins crawling around M50 but made it on time
I asked to be loaded on the freight deck having had bad experiences with ferry ramps in the past- so FB traveled with 10 lorries of horses en route to racing in France

Arrived at Cherbourg 1200 French time - and off before all the cars- picked up half a tank of 99E5 ( no E5 in Ireland and headed off to my lunch stop- a whole 8 kms away- Le Relais Au Bout de Monde - truck stop on left just as you leave Cherbourg onto Motorway-starter buffet- choice of 4main course ( including steak) the best chips ever- cheese and dessert - you get 1/4 l of house red or rose, or a 1/2 L of cider- all this for.........,.
EUR 17.50
Coffee is extra 0,50 EUR
Do stop if passing through Chetbourh- same deal evenings too!

Met some more Porsche folk in bar ( FB is always talking point) - he young chef just opening new resto/ hotel near Salisbury so much Porsche/ Foodie chat- great meal chef Franck is mushroom specialist - see menu
