Bearings are all looking scored. Guess they need lubrication… who knew! All getting replaced.hot66 wrote:Anything looking obviously worn ?
3rd & 4th syncro look shiny, needs a proper clean before I really decide though. 4th syncro was on the list before I took it apart as it was always slow to engage.
Oil is more of a grey sludge which tells you something I’d probably rather not know!

Mike's quote was simple, "Just Replace Everything".
If that was not acceptable, you had to tell him what NOT to replace...
Big bill, but all done properly.

Just a thought Gary, it could be of great interest if you picked this project up and made a thread of it in Restorations, a step by step approach from apart to together?

Took the 964 for a drive doing some last minute stuff - yes that was me rumbling past your house earlier Jason!
There is no salt on the roads so enjoying using it. Must get the lumpy idle mapped out of it though - keeps stalling and pi55ing me off!

Fitted a new spring to my 356 latch door. I finally think I've got it sorted. Famous last words

After many hours, finally got the new folding sunroof cover onto the MGB GT roof frame ( been on the car since 1989).
What a game.
Hope to loose it onto the car on Tuesday and get it all buttoned up.
Rather not do it again....

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Prior to today, we’ve had some clear roads so I took the 964 out on Xmas eve to drop my daughter off and to do some last minute shopping … forgot how easy an old 911 fits in a park8ng space compared to our moderns
Then Monday this week took the yellow car out to pick up a new battery from GSF for my other daughter’s mini . Love this car

Was a small farm about 80 years ago that supplied the milk for the village, but was split up after the war when the village was sold to its residents
